The MISIP 2026 New Year Exchange Forum was recently held at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank headquarters. Under the theme “Gathering Momentum, Empowering a Green Future,” the event aimed to strengthen MISIP’s role as a bridge for dialogue and advance discussions on improving ESG management in infrastructure and scaling up sustainable investment.Among the participants was the Beijing Energy and Environment Technology Development Center (EED), which joined more than 90 representatives from over 40 organizations—including international bodies, financial institutions, contractors, and professional service providers—in sharing perspectives and practical insights.

At the forum, EED senior environmental expert Dr. Shi Lu interpreted the newly released "Multilateral Development Banks Environmental and Social Policy Compliance Guide." The Guide systematically compares environmental and social frameworks across institutions such as the World Bank, ADB, and AIIB. It outlines six key compliance requirements—from project screening to grievance mechanisms—and addresses ten core issues including labor, biodiversity, and climate change.

Emphasizing practical application, the Guide offers project-wide compliance strategies and integrates case studies from industry leaders, providing actionable guidance for Chinese international engineering firms.

During the forum, EED was officially admitted as a member of the MISIP mechanism, marking a significant step in its commitment to global sustainable development. Through this platform, EED will enhance cooperation with partners to innovate sustainable infrastructure practices and support Chinese engineering firms in pursuing greener, higher-quality overseas growth. The organization will also further strengthen its ESG expertise to contribute to industry-wide green transformation.

The event has laid a solid foundation for collaborative efforts in sustainable infrastructure. EED looks forward to working with all stakeholders to promote a more inclusive and environmentally responsible future for the sector.
