Dr. Xin Liu, Director of EED, was invited to give a lecture at the Lancang Mekong Region National Smart Agriculture Training Class

Recently, Lancang-Mekong Region Countries Smart Agriculture Seminar, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center (FECO), MARA, P.R. China successfully commenced in Beijing. 30 officials from agricultural sector of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand conducted 14-day series of activities in China, including study visits, surveys, and learning exchanges. Dr. Xin Liu, Director of EED, was invited to deliver a special lecture on the course "Application Practice of Intelligent Agricultural Technology in the Integrated Management of Agricultural and Rural Environment" for this seminar.

This year marks the 8th anniversary of the launch of Lancang-Mekong cooperation. Agriculture, as one of the five priority areas of Lancang-Mekong cooperation, has achieved progress. The purpose of this seminar is to share China's experience and practices in promoting the construction of smart agriculture and development of agriculture and rural areas, to solidly advance cooperation and exchange with Lancang-Mekong countries in the field of smart agriculture. It is to promote the economic and social development of various countries, create an economic development belt in the Lancang-Mekong river basin, and build a community with a shared future for Lancang-Mekong countries.

Dr. Xin Liu, Director of EED, gave a special presentation on "Application Practice of Intelligent Agriculture Technology in Comprehensive Governance of Agriculture and Rural Environment" based on past experience and successful cases. He systematically introduced the relevant policies and systems of agriculture and rural areas in China, different intelligent agriculture technology means and their development history. He deeply explored the potential of intelligent agriculture technology in comprehensive governance of agriculture and rural environment, and demonstrated the current achievements through examples. Moreover, he also provided a detailed introduction to the role of intelligent agriculture in promoting the management of agricultural non-point source pollution, rural water quality pollution, and household waste pollution.

Developing intelligent agriculture is an important aspect of promoting high-quality agricultural development and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization in China. He believes that through the technological means of intelligent agriculture, natural resources can be better utilized and dependence on non renewable resources can be reduced, thereby reducing the pressure on sustainable development. In addition, intelligent agriculture can also strengthen the connection between rural areas and capital, promoting agricultural modernization.
